IbeNigeria-born Liverpool youngster, Jordon Ibe, is proud to get his debut game in the English Premiership giant club especially in a game that marked the end of club’s superstar and legend Carragher.

The Nigerian star is excited that he featured in a game Liverpool won 1-0 beating Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Ibe played for 63 minutes and created the the winning goal for Philippe Coutinho before he was substituted by Fabio Borini .

“I feel over the moon to be playing at Liverpool in such an important match, especially Carragher’s last match,” Ibe said after the win.

“I found out I was in the squad yesterday but I wasn’t too sure if I was going to start. Brendan told me to be prepared. Yesterday evening and this morning I was just focused and calm.

“I thought I did okay, especially getting an assist for Coutinho’s goal and helping the club win three points. The manager told me that I did well, I just need to keep pressing and stay compact.”

The 17-year-old was born in Bermondsey, South London. He signed as a 12 year old for the Wycombe Wanderers youth system, after his release from the Charlton Athletic youth system. He would go on to make his senior debut against Sheffield Wednesday on 29 October and scored in the 2–1 loss, becoming Wycombe’s youngest ever scorer in the Football League.

He signed for Liverpool in December 2011 has impressed in the club’s youth sides throughout 2012-13.

Ibe was part of Liverpool’s pre-season tour of North America last summer, making his first team debut for the club in the 1-1 pre-season friendly against MLS side Toronto on 22 July 2012 half-time for Joe Cole.

On March 16, Ibe was called-up to the bench for Liverpool’s League game at Southampton.

Ibe has already featured for England at U-18 level but his Liverpool debut and subsequent appearances will definitely attract sure interest from Nigeria.

The winger, whose full names are Jordon Femi Ashley Ibe is looking forward to a great future saying “I feel very confident because now I’ve played here; I’ve got a little bit of experience so I know what it takes to play here. Hopefully I can build on that and take it into the new season.
