Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, following his victory as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

The congratulatory message was issued on Friday after Hamzat emerged as the winner of the APC direct primaries conducted statewide on Thursday. Governor Sanwo-Olu praised the large turnout of party supporters, describing it as a reflection of confidence in Hamzat’s ability to continue the progress of the current administration.

Sanwo-Olu commended party members for their loyalty and orderly participation during the primaries, emphasizing the importance of unity as the party prepares for the general elections.

“On behalf of my family, I congratulate Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat on his emergence as the APC’s standard-bearer in next year’s Lagos gubernatorial election,” the governor said.

He added that Hamzat’s vision for Lagos’ development would benefit all residents, reinforcing the continuity of the state’s growth and public service initiatives.

The primary outcome marks a key step in the APC’s roadmap for the 2027 elections, consolidating support ahead of the general vote.
