Former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has expressed concerns over potential manipulation of results in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Nasarawa State.

The allegation was made by Musa Hussaini Director-General of Adamu’s governorship campaign, during a press briefing in Lafia on Friday. Hussaini claimed that votes from ward and local government levels reflected strong support for the aspirant but were allegedly interfered with by some state government officials.

“These actions are undemocratic and could undermine the credibility of the primary,” Hussaini said, urging the APC Electoral Committee to uphold genuine results from all polling and collation centers.

He emphasized the need for impartiality, warning against any pressure, intimidation, or attempts to alter the democratic process. Hussaini also called for official recognition of results already declared from successfully conducted wards, asserting they reflect the free will of party members.

“The voice of the people must not be suppressed. Strengthening democracy within the party requires transparency, fairness, and adherence to due process,” he added.

Hussaini appealed to party supporters and the public to remain calm and law-abiding while the electoral committee completes collation in accordance with APC guidelines.

Meanwhile, Augustine Ogaba, the APC state Publicity Secretary, declined to comment on the allegations. At the time of the report, collation of the governorship primary results was ongoing at the state collation center in Lafia.
