Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce shakes Benin City

Benin, Edo State, was agog on Saturday night when thousands of Glo subscribers converged on Best Western Hotel, Etete, GRA, to witness the wave-making musical concert, Slide & Bounce, sponsored by national telecoms operator, Globacom.
The guests were already seated as at 2p.m., waiting earnestly to see their favourite artistes perform live on stage.
The blend of green lightening effects which signified Globacom’s colors created a warm ambience, setting the mood for a night of dance and reveling.
A combination of local Benin artistes and top rated Glo ambassadors guaranteed that the guests left the venue satisfied and fulfilled. They had more fun than they had expected as the artistes performed one after the other.
Okey Bakassi set the ball rolling unleashing rib cracking jokes that sent the audience reeling with laughter. Music oozed from the state of the art sound system manned by DJ XGee, reverberating within the auditorium
‘I don get alert’ crooner, Korede Bello, was the first to perform setting the pace for others. His sonorous voice filled the air as he sand to the delight of his fans. Clad in sparkling white trouser, black t-shirt and jacket, reminiscent of an American hip-hop star, Korede performed his other hits tracks including ‘Adaobi’ and ‘Na God Win’.
Burna Boy was next. His energetic and youthful body moved across the stage as he re-enacted Fela Anikulapo’s stage stunts. Expectedly, he performed ‘Beast of No Nation’ and ‘ Run my race’ eliciting cheers from his teeming fans. The Ojuelegba exponent, Wiz Kid, performed with his band, giving originality to the song on stage.
Then came the Koko master, Dapo Oyebanji, popularly called D’Banj who took the concert a notch higher. His songs; ‘ Orin yato sorin’ and Eni to bat a fele fele’ filled the auditorium as he gesticulated and sang to the pleasure of his fans.
The local Benin artistes were sensational. R and A, Blue Ice and Smooth Flavour who was impaired visually thrilled the audience.
A graduate of Benin, Evelyn Emokpai, currently studying International Relations was delighted by the performance of the artistes. She said that she enjoyed herself “like never before and it is heart-warming for me to see these stars here on stage free of charge”.

She thanked Globacom “for always delighting its customers. When I travelled two weeks ago, I was told that Glo also had a fantastic comedy show in this same hall and this shows how much Globacom loves the people of Edo State.”

Offor Augustus-Ndu, Globacom’s National Sales Coordinator, Mid-West, who gave an opening remark, noted that Benin City “remains one of the priority cities for Globacom and I can assure you all that this is just the beginning of the good things we will be doing around here”. He assured the people of Globacom’s continued support and encourage them to remain faithful to Globacom. “Just stay with Globacom and experience all the mind-blowing promotions that will be coming your way in weeks to come”, he concluded.
