President of Thailand Football Association (FAT), Worawi Makudi, has been banned from football for 90 days, world governing body, FIFA, said on Monday.
Makudi, 63, is a former member of the FIFA executive committee and has been FAT president since 2007.
A statement by FIFA said that “the adjudicatory chamber of the ethics committee, chaired by Hans-Joachim Eckert, has suspended Worawi Makudi from all football activities at national and international level for 90 days,”.
FIFA said the suspension of Makudi was “on the grounds that a breach of the code of ethics appears to have been committed and a decision on the main issue may not be taken early enough.”

Details of the case, which will soon be investigated formally, were not given.

Makudi was given a suspended prison sentence of one year and four months, after being found guilty of forgery in July.

Last week the ethics committee banned FIFA President Joseph Blatter, General Secretary Jerome Valcke and Vice-president and UEFA president Michel Platini for 90 days.
