Visiting Manchester City were ruthless on Sunday against 10-man Liverpool at Anfield with a crushing 3-0 win.
All the goals were scored in the second stanza of the very tough encounter.
Chances were at a premium in the first half but the game opened up in the second, and was tilted in favour of the visitors when Liverpool were reduced to 10 men following Ryan Gravenberch’s 62nd-minute red card.
Six minutes later, City were 2-0 up, thanks to superb finishes from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku. In the 78th minute, Ryan Cherki joined the goalscoring party after some wonderful footwork to make it 3-0.
It extends City’s 100 per cent start to the season and leaves them three points clear of Arsenal at the top.

Haaland was quiet before Liverpool were reduced to 10 men but popped up with the decisive moment in the 65th minute to open the scoring.
Haaland, whose father was in the stands today, pumps his fists in the air as he acknowledges City supporters.
The boos and jeers continue from the home fans, but as far as City are concerned, it’s job done.
A chastening defeat for Liverpool — the first of Iraola’s reign.
But things need to be kept in perspective. They were the better team when it was 11 vs 11, despite being without Isak, Gakpo and Szoboszlai.
It is believed the red card was very harsh and with Doku making a huge impact off the bench, it quickly became a mismatch.
