Emenike: Eagles committed to W/Cup ticket

emmanuel_emenikeFenerbahce FC of Turkey striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has said that the Super Eagles determination is to reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The 26-year-old striker is confident that the African champions will do well in the play-off after overcoming the Flames of Malawi in Saturday’s last group game.

Emenike, who joined Fenerbahce from Spartak Moscow in August for a fee of €13 million, stated that featuring at next year’s Mundial is “important” for his country.

However, the former FC Cape Town man said “it will be a disaster” should the African champions fail to make the cut.

And he has charged his teammates to go all out against the Flames of Malawi to ensure they reach the play-off stage and avoid any embarrassment to their World Cup ambition.

“I think it’s not just about me, the whole team is prepared. We left our clubs to win this game as we know how important it is for Nigeria to be at the World Cup next year.

“As African champions, it will be a disaster not to make it to the World Cup next year.
