dayo_adeyeyeMore support has come for the governorship ambition of former Publicity Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Prince Dayo Adeyeye.

Adeyeye is seeking to succeed Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State in 2014.

The latest support is coming from the Ijero Group.

In the group are PDP House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates from the state in the 2011 election.

The meeting which adopted Adeyeye was held in Ijero-Ekiti. He got 41 points while Mr. Yinka Akerele, who came second received 24 points.

Other PDP aspirants that were voted for were Senator Ayo Arise (19 points), Ambassador Dare Bejide (15), Hon Ropo Ogunbolude (11), Chief Bisi Omoyeni (10), Oluomo Abiodun Aluko (4), Otunba Segun Olarewaju (2), Dr Ayo Fayose (2), Hon Femi Bamisile (1) and Senator Gbenga Aluko (1)

Each of the 20 members of the group present at the meeting were asked to write names of three preferred aspirants in order of priority, with the aspirant indicated as number one having three points, number two two points while number three one point.

Two National Assembly candidates, Hon Kehinde Odebunmi and Kayode Alufa were present at the meeting.

Secretary of the group, Hon Ayo Boluwade, confirmed Adeyeye’s adoption

“As it went, Adeyeye had 41 points while Akerele, the closest candidate to him had 24 points. Therefore, we will back Adeyeye,” Boluwade said.
