The founder of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Osogbo, the Osun State capital,
Taiwo Olaniyi (48), and his wife, Kemi (28), have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command for the death of three persons in their church during deliverance.
Osun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, has confirmed the arrest.
The couple also operate a healing centre and trado-medical home in the church.
Freedom Online learned that one Rasheedat Mufutau (58), Basira Anifowose (48) and a nine-month old boy, Abdul-Rahman Afolabi, died in the church premises while seeking deliverance.
Opalola said three persons were arrested, but the third suspect was released because he was just a church member.
She said: “We are still investigating the matter to know the cause of their death.
“The third suspect had been released because he was just a church member.
“He was just in the church when the police got there”.
