Nigerian music superstar Davido is set to headline the FIFA World Cup 2026 countdown concert in Los Angeles, performing alongside Diplo’s Major Lazer on June 10.

The concert is part of FIFA’s synchronized music events across Los Angeles, Toronto, and Mexico City, designed to build excitement ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Davido is also featured on the official FIFA album, “No Place Like Home”, releasing June 5, alongside four other Nigerian artists including Ayra Star, as well as international collaborations, including Shakira and Burna Boy.

Sharing the announcement on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Davido wrote:

“New music this Friday!! ‘NO PLACE LIKE HOME’ with @MAJORLAZER @NellyFurtado @FIFAWorldCup

Fans quickly expressed excitement online. User @Pretty_airnb commented, “I can’t wait for this!, while @Fasterrdaddy wrote, “FIFA World Cup knows he will always deliver.” Another fan, @Abazwhyllzz, hailed him as “The greatest musician in the world, back-to-back World Cup appearance.”

Davido, popularly known as OBO, was born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, US. He began his professional music career in 2011 and released his debut studio album, “Omo Baba Olowo”, blending Afrobeats and hip hop. He rose to fame with the hit single “Dami Duro” in 2012, following earlier work with the group KB International.

This event marks another milestone in Davido’s growing international profile as he continues to represent Nigerian music on the global stage.
