Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that Rihanna remains his dream international collaborator.
The singer made the disclosure during a live-stream interview on Twitch with host @Theboyfromojo.
Davido said he would love to work with the global music and business icon, although he admitted that the collaboration may not happen soon.
According to him, Rihanna appears to be more focused on her successful beauty and fashion businesses than recording new music.
The singer said a collaboration with Rihanna would produce great music, noting his admiration for her artistry and global influence.
He, however, acknowledged that the Barbadian star has been away from active music releases for several years.
Rihanna has not released a full studio album since “Anti” in 2016.
In recent years, she has built a major business empire through Fenty Beauty and other fashion and lifestyle ventures.
Davido’s interest in working with Rihanna comes amid their history of mutual appreciation.
Rihanna has previously praised Davido’s music and once described his hit song “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys, as one of her favourite tracks.
Davido later responded warmly to the recognition, playfully referring to her as “my Ri Ri.”
The Afrobeats star has built a strong record of international collaborations over the years.
He has worked with major global artistes including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and DaBaby.
Those collaborations have helped expand Davido’s reach and strengthen Afrobeats’ presence on the global music scene.
A possible Davido and Rihanna collaboration would attract major attention from fans of African music, pop and global entertainment.
For now, however, Davido says the dream remains uncertain as Rihanna continues to focus on her billion-dollar business ventures.
