Colombian music star Shakira, Grammy-winning Nigerian Afrobeats artiste Burna Boy and Uganda’s Ghetto Kids have begun rehearsals for their performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

The artistes are expected to perform during the tournament’s final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.

Videos circulating on social media showed Shakira and Burna Boy dancing with members of the Ghetto Kids during rehearsals.

The clips have generated excitement among football fans and music lovers ahead of the World Cup grand finale.

The performance will be part of FIFA’s first Super Bowl-style halftime show at a World Cup final.

Spain and Argentina are scheduled to meet in the final on July 19.

Shakira and Burna Boy had earlier released “Dai Dai,” the official song of the tournament.

FIFA said royalties from the song would support the Global Citizen Education Fund.

The fund is aimed at raising $100 million before the end of the tournament to help provide children around the world with access to quality education and football opportunities.

Uganda’s Ghetto Kids are also expected to add a strong dance element to the performance.

The group, made up of orphaned and vulnerable children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, has gained global recognition through energetic dance videos and appearances on international talent platforms.

The troupe was earlier invited by Shakira to take part in the halftime spectacle.

Their involvement has been widely celebrated by fans who see the performance as a major global platform for African dance and youth talent.

The World Cup final show is expected to combine music, dance and football in one of the most-watched sporting events in the world.

The collaboration between Shakira, Burna Boy and Uganda’s Ghetto Kids also highlights the growing influence of African music and dance on global entertainment stages.
