Dana-AirDana Air on Sunday in Lagos pledged to partner with the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to boost the country’s agriculture sector.

It’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jacky Hathiramani, made the pledge in a statement made available to newsmen by the Company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr Tony Usidamen.

The statement said that the company would provide complimentary air tickets to facilitate the transportation of special guests at the 19th Nigerian Economic Summit scheduled for between September 3 and  5 in Abuja, with the theme: ”Growing Agriculture as a business to diversify Nigeria’s economy.”.

It described described agriculture as a viable sector with the potential to generate employment and more revenue for the country, adding that the sector had contributed a lot to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and export earnings.

“We are pleased to support this year’s Summit.

“As we partner for the Summit, Dana Air is providing complimentary air tickets to facilitate the transportation of the organisers and special guests to the Summit,”

Mr Frank Nweke, the Director-General of NESG, said the summit would discuss issues critical to the full exploitation of agriculture to ensure food security, employment generation and wealth creation.

Nweke said that that the summit was being planned by the NESG in collaboration with the National Planning Commission  and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

He said that the airline’s partnership with NESG was a sign of its commitment towards the growth and development of the country.
