Bichi agog as Osinbajo, Jonathan, Atiku, Lawan, ministers, governors, others attend Yusuf Buhari’s wedding

The ancient town of Bichi, Kano State, on Friday, went agog, as Yusuf, son of President Muhammadu Buhari, married Zahra, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado-Bayero.
Buhari was among thousands of dignitaries who attended the wedding.

Yusuf, the Talban Daura, married Zahra, daughter of the second Emir of Bichi.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), Senate President, Mohammed Lawan; former Nigerien President Mouhamadu Yesuofu, former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were present.

Other dignitaries included the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba-Alkali, former Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai, former IGP Mohammed Adamu, Governors of Kano, Enugu, Borno, Niger, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Kogi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Bauchi, Zamfara and Cross River, among others.

Chief of Staff to Buhari, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; ministers, presidential aides, members of National and State Assemblies, Emirs, diplomats, politicians and well-wishers, among others, were also present.

The wedding Fatiha was conducted at the Emir’s Palace with the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, presiding, after payment of N500,000, as dowry.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata stood as representative of the bride, while Alhaji Mamman Daura stood for the groom during the wedding.

Shortly after the religious rites, Pantami prayed to the Almighty Allah to bless the marriage and grant the couple, pious children.

Sheikh Qaribullahi Nasiru Kabara, the leader of Qadiriyya Islamic Sect in West Africa, also prayed for the couple and advised them to live in peace and harmony.

Father of bride, Alhaji Nasiru Ado-Bayero, will be presented with Staff of Office by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Saturday in Bichi.
