In its constant efforts to introduce the game of basketball to kids, right from an early age and afterwards engage them positively during school long vacations, Funmi Bamidele Basketball Foundations (FBBF) owned by an ex- international, Funmi Bamidele has perfected plans to commence Summer Holiday Basketball Clinic in Ibadan.
The five-day training programme which has been scheduled to commence on Monday 19th to 23rd August inside the Indoor Basketball Court of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan is designed for ages 2 and above.
The annual event which has entered its 4th edition this year was packaged according to the wife of late Super Eagles defender, Tunde Bamidele, to introduce the basics of the game of basketball, discover and train potential future stars.
Oyher lined-up activities for the kids include a pep talk from officers from State Action Committee on HIV/AIDS (SACA) Oyo State, while every participant would also get souvenirs and certificate of participation.
“Part of practical steps to revive basketball is to introduce it to young ones early enough, especially during school’s vacations,” Bamidele explained, maintaining that “other efforts of the foundation is to monitor and endear the game to the kids through our mobile basketball clinic, which entails bringing instructors and equipments like moveable upright, balls, cones and bibs to schools to train children for specific period.”
