The School of Nursing, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, has declared its readiness to host a memorable fourth edition of Nigeria Schools of Nursing and Midwifery Games (NISONMG), tagged EKO 2013 with more than 15 Nursing Schools within the South-West gearing up to storm Lagos.
The sports tourney which is being organised by National Sports Commission South-West Zone One in conjunction with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria basically for nursing students has been scheduled to take place between Tuesday August 27 and Sunday September 1, inside the Sports Complex of the University of Lagos.
The Game according to the organisers will feature events such as Track and Field, Basketball, Football, Tennis and volleyball, all would featured athletes in male and female categories. There would also be the Table Tennis event.
The Games according to the marketing partners to the organisers, Kingsize Sports Agency has received a big boost from corporate sponsors, who have promised to support the Games that bring together all health tertiary institutions in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states together annually.
“We are setting good records for this 4th NISONM Games, which is being powered by our sponsors who promised to add glamour to this epoch games. In fact, a reputable telecommunication outfit, is still talking with us, as per this games, we are very much delighted, for all the favourable and positive responses we got on NISONM Games so far,” said Lanre Alabi, CEO, Kingsize Sports Agency, the official marketer of the Games.
He also added that the game will also feature a beauty pageant tagged ‘MISS NISONM Beauty Pageant,’ “the pageant will not be different from the one organised at the 3rd edition in Ibadan but as we all know that Nursing profession is a noble one therefore, the pageant would be slightly different from the conventional beauty pageant in order to protect the integrity of the Nursing profession.”
