Badagry Council Bans Indiscriminate Placement of Posters, Flex Banners

The Badagry Local Government in Lagos State has announced a restriction on the indiscriminate placement of flex banners, posters and other advertising materials around the Badagry International Roundabout.

Chairman of the council, Babatunde Hunpe, said the directive was introduced as part of efforts to reorganise and decongest the busy roundabout.

Hunpe said the measure would help improve visibility for motorists and reduce obstruction around the area.

According to him, unregulated placement of banners and posters can block traffic signs, affect road safety and undermine the appearance of the roundabout.

He described the Badagry International Roundabout as one of the major gateway corridors in the area and said it must be kept orderly, safe and presentable.

The council chairman advised individuals, groups, businesses and organisations to obtain proper approval from the local government before mounting any banner, poster or signage within the roundabout axis.

He warned that advertising materials placed without approval would be removed by enforcement officials.

Hunpe added that violators of the directive could also face sanctions in line with local government regulations.

The chairman appealed to residents, traders, advertisers and other stakeholders to cooperate with the council’s effort to maintain order in the area.

He said the local government remained committed to improving public safety, traffic flow and environmental appearance across Badagry.
