Arsenal Ladies have signed Nigerian striker, Asisat Oshoala, from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.
Oshoala joined the Reds from Nigerian side Rivers Angels last January and scored three goals in 12 WSL appearances.
The 21-year-old has appeared on the international stage at youth and senior level and was named the player of the tournament at the U-20 World Cup in 2014 after finishing top scorer with seven goals.

In the same year she was also named the best player in the African Women’s Championship, netting four times to help the Super Falcons to the title.

“Asisat is a fantastic talent and will be a great addition to our squad,” Arsenal Ladies manager Pedro Losa told the club’s website.

“She is quick, with excellent feet and has proven she can score goals so it’s very positive she has decided to join us.”

On the international stage, Oshoala has represented Nigeria with distinction at youth and senior level.

In 2014 she was player of the tournament at both the Under-20 World Cup and the African Women’s Championship. She was also named the BBC’s Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2015.

Arsenal manager, Pedro Losa said the capture of the Nigerian will greatly boost the side’s quest for glory.

“Asisat is a fantastic talent and will be a great addition to our squad. She is quick, with excellent feet and has proven she can score goals so it’s very positive she has decided to join us,” said Losa to www.arsenal.com.

Oshoala is expected in Nigeria to join her teammates in preparation for the upcoming 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) first leg qualifying match against Senegal or Guinea on April 4 in Abuja.
