Super Eagles full-back and Monaco FC of France star player, Elderson Echiejile, has cautioned his teammates not to believe that Arsenal FC, which the French club defeated 3-1 in a first leg Round of 16 Champions League game, are no more in the competition.
Monaco, despite missing several first-team regulars, shocked Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates on Wednesday with the return leg fixed for March 17 in the French Principality.
“We have to stay focused for the second leg in three weeks so that we can finish the job at home,” said Elderson, who played from start to finish in London.
“There are not many teams who could come to England to beat Arsenal, but we did so and should not get carried away by this feat because Arsenal will always be a dangerous team.”
The Nigerian international also saluted the Monaco travelling fans.
“They may not have been many but they were wonderful as they cheered us all the way to victory,” he praised.
