Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Fatai Amoo, who also at a point handled Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan yesterday poured eulogies on the late former Chief coach of the Super Falcons, Jossy Lad, who died Thursday morning in his home in Ibadan after a protracted ailment.
Amoo who is also a legend at First Bank Football Club of Lagos said the late coach was a complete gentleman.
Jossy Lad was said to have suffered from a heart-related disease and prostate cancer that took him severally to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
Amoo, who expressed shock while confirming the news of the late former 3SC player, said Nigeria has actually lost an administrator par excellence.
“The late Jossy Lad was a complete gentleman and a professional to the core. His death is a great loss to the nation especially at the moment the football sector is being rejuvenated.
“The news of his death hit me very hard, I have not seen him for sometime but I have been in constant communication with one of his children I knew while at 3SC. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the former Super Eagles assistant coach said.
Amoo said the former Nigerian international was a father and mentor to him and wants a monument erected in his honour.
“The late Jossy Lad was a father and one of my mentors in the football industry. I came very close to him at 3SC then as board member while I was the side’s coach.
“He was a patient listener even to a fault and had a way of lifting our minds, when our morale is down. He gave us hope at a time funds were not coming to Shooting Stars as it should. ”
