The Abeokuta Girls Grammar School Old Students’ Association, AGGSOGA, has inaugurated a new set of Global Executives for another four-year tenure, with Mrs. Elizabeth Olusolape Ajibola re-elected as Global President.

The inauguration, held yesterday, brought together elders, past presidents, the outgoing executive, and members of AGGSOGA worldwide.

One of the elders, Dr Hammond, charged the new team to be focused on their set goals and never listen to hearsay. She prayed for continued success of the Ajibola leadership.
Mrs Lara Olanrewaju called for unity and the spirit of oneness towards achieving greater goals.
In her own submission, Mrs Omolara Eniola Ige prayed for wisdom and God’s continued presence in the administration of the new Ajibola-led team.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Ajibola thanked God for the opportunity and expressed gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in her and her team. She acknowledged the foundations laid by past leaders, noting that their “steady gaze on details” brought stability and progress to the association.

Reflecting on the last four years, she said the association grew its membership to over 1,500 and built on existing protocols “against all odds.” She also celebrated her 1978 set, of which she is a proud member.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Ajibola said her second term would focus on unity, objectivity, and mobilizing all members for the development of AGGS. She promised a “more elaborate roadmap” after wider consultations, with the goal that every member will be proud of her leadership at the end of the tenure.

“Time is more expensive than money and we’ll be spending a lot of time together,” she said. “It is our hope, God helping us, that at the end of this tenure, every student of AGGS, Abeokuta will look forward to joining the Alumnae and contributing to our alma mater.”

She described herself as “first among equals” and called for teamwork, referencing the success of AGGS’ 70th anniversary. She also commended AGGSOGA’s newly elected Global Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Dupe Olaoye-Osinkolu, for anchoring the just-concluded election and the inauguration meeting.

Mrs. Ajibola ended by thanking her family, especially her husband, for his support. The new executive pledged to “give the task ahead our very best.” she said
