Afenifere at 70: Fasoranti, Akeredolu, Mimiko attend church service

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), on Sunday, joined members and leaders of the Pan Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organisation, Afenifere, in the state at a Thanksgiving Service in commemoration of the group’s 70th Anniversary.
He recalled that the group started in Owo, stressing that it is one of the great things that were birthed in the ancient town which must be celebrated
Akeredolu, who spoke after the Church programme held at St. David’s Cathedral Church, Ijomu-Akure, the state capital, described the 70th Anniversary as significant.

Akeredolu added that with the array of leaders of the group, including the nonagenarian, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the 70th Anniversary was a landmark.

“You know their struggle and they are still continuing. So, it is a great day for Afenifere,” the governor said.

Former Governor Olusegun Mimiko was also at the service.
