The Premier League Club Owners have debunked reports that they were forced to accept the League Management Company headed by Honourable Nduka Irabor, by the various state governments who are the true owners of 19 out of the 20 premier league clubs in the country.
The Acting Secretary of the Club Owners Association, Mr Alloy Chukwuemeka, said the report is untrue and misleading.
He said that the acceptance to work with the LMC was borne-out of the agreement reached between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and representatives of the Club Owners and the LMC, where some contentious issues were resolved.
He added that, Club Owners were not at any time forced to accept the LMC because what was paramount to all the stakeholders was the progress of the league which was not interrupted.
Chukwuemeka however stressed that the cordial relationship which now exists between LMC and Club Owners is aimed at ensuring that we jointly move the league forward within the short time of its existence.
Meanwhile the Association have cautioned one of its members Chief Fan Ndubuoke over a comment credited to him where he called for the resignation of two of the Club Owners who are members of the LMC.
The association also advised him to channel his grievances to the appropriate quarters.
