The Technical Department of Chelsea FC of England which has a Nigerian as the head, Micheal Emenalo, Thursday afternoon told officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to forget about featuring Victor Moses in any international game until after July 6 when the player is expected to have regained full fitness to play good football.
The message which was sent to the NFF was forwarded to the Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi, who until yesterday was expecting to feature the player for the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil, after initially accepting the reality of not having the player for the June 5 FIFA World Cup qualifiers match against Kenya.
The English club revealed that the Nigerian star has been battling injuries towards the tail end of the season and as such he is unavailable for a series of matches involving the Super Eagles.
Moses picked up a knock in a 2-2 draw at home against Tottenham Hotspur.
“Chelsea have informed us that Moses cannot play again till July 6, but he will be with them in the US,” Keshi disclosed.
However, it is not clear the nature of the winger’s injury.
The injury-hit Moses has already pulled out of the Nigeria squad for a series of matches beginning with a friendly against Mexico on May 31 in the United States of America.
