Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan who are presently placed in the 13th position on the Nigeria Premier League table will bounce back to reckoning, so says the club’s left wing-back, Mutiu Adegoke.

Adegoke noted that Shooting Stars would respond positively to their much publicised home loss to Heartland FC of Owerri, when they play hosts to Nasarawa United in their NPFL Week 14 clash Wednesday.

The Oluyole Warriors had a rather bad day, conceding two goals and losing their 100 percent record at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan to the chagrin of their supporters.

Adegoke, who missed the match through suspension, stated that they are not contemplating anything else than victory against Nasarawa United as they intend to make up for the disappointing result.

“It is important that we put the Heartland loss behind us and focus on beating Nasarawa United,” Adegoke said.

“There is some pressure on the team to respond immediately and we intend to do so. The players have met and we are determined to make amends.

“Even though I did not play the match, it is not good to lose at home and we will be going all out for the three points against Nasarawa United.

“We have prepared well for the game, and I believe our efforts would be rewarded.”

Adegoke said that a win against the Solid Miners would also help lift their confidence.

“We were doing well before the Heartland defeat and I’ve told my colleagues the only way forward is to recoup the lost points,” he reasoned.

“We had just picked up our first away point and never anticipated losing to Heartland, but these things happen in football.

“We need to beat Nasarawa to restore our confidence, and the lads are all fired up to the match.”

3SC have fallen to 16th place in the NPFL, though they have an outstanding match, while Nasarawa United are eighth on the log.
