Guber: Ikpeazu, Ishaku win in Abia, Taraba; Okorocha beats Ihedioha in Imo

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has won the supplementary poll.
With 264,713 votes, he was declared winner of the exercise by the Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba.
There was jubilation in major cities of the South-East state on Sunday morning immediately Ikpeazu was declared the winner.
His closest rival, Dr. Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), got 180,882 votes.
Ozumba declared that the PDP candidate got majority of the votes and satisfied all requirements of the Electoral Act (as amended) and the law.
He said: “Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of PDP, having satisfied requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
In Imo State, Governor Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election with 416,996 votes.
Okorocha was declared winner by the Returning Officer, Professor Ibidapo Obe.
Ibidapo Obe is the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Ikwo, Ebonyi State.
Okorocha’s closest rival, Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP, got 320,705. Ihedioha is the outgoing Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.
In Tababa State, the PDP candidate, Darius Ishaku, defeated his APC counterpart, Senator Aisha Alhassan.
Before the announcement, thugs loyal to the two candidates had engaged in sporadic shootings at a collation centre in Takum
The election was held in Jalingo, Bali, Yorro, Zing, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Wukari, Karim Lamido and Kurmi.
