The Senate has revealed that the 10th National Assembly has handled 1,286 motions and 676 bills within three years, with several of the bills already signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.

This was disclosed by the Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Sen. Yemi Adaramodu, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Wednesday.

Adaramodu explained that beyond motions and bills, the Senate has also dealt with a wide range of public petitions, national debates, and the screening of ministerial nominees and heads of government agencies.

He said all legislative processes are conducted transparently to allow Nigerians assess the performance of their elected representatives.

According to him, the upper chamber has continued to push reforms aimed at strengthening governance, security, the economy, and national infrastructure.

The senator noted that the Senate has remained focused on its constitutional mandate, adding that significant progress has been made on several policy areas.

He highlighted the passage of the Tax Reform legislation and ongoing reforms in the power sector, especially electricity generation and distribution.

Adaramodu said many of the approved bills have already been assented to and are now operational laws in the country.

He further stated that the National Assembly has consistently reviewed federal budgets to ensure alignment with national priorities.

According to him, emphasis has been placed on security, food security, and infrastructure development, which remain central to Nigeria’s growth strategy.

Adaramodu, who represents Ekiti South Senatorial District, also commented on the recent Ekiti governorship election, describing it as a strong endorsement of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

He said the outcome reflected broad support for the governor’s performance across infrastructure, education, and healthcare sectors.

The senator added that political unity among former governors and stakeholders contributed significantly to the electoral outcome.
