Yuguda denies recovery of vehicles from his wives

Former Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has described as false and misleading reports that some vehicles were recovered from his wives by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led state government.
He declared that no vehicle was allocated to any of his wives while he was governor, so it would be misleading to announce that vehicles were recovered from them.
His position was made known through a statement by his media team.
The statement issued by the team leader, Mr Jeff Kachikwu in Abuja on Sunday, explained that the cars in question were allocated to the immediate-past governor and his official aides during his time in office, not to any of his wives.
It stressed that the cars were voluntarily handed over to the appropriate authority within a week after handing over ceremony by Yuguda.
“It, therefore, left much to be desired when the new administration in the state was alleging that Yuguda’s wives were ever in possession of the said cars.

“How can she use government vehicles after leaving the office as the First Lady when she was not even a government official while in office?
“The truth is that the cars were being used by government officials who were entitled to the cars during the former governor’s time in office not to any of his wives. All the cars were duly handed over shortly after the hand-over date,’’ the media team said in the statement.
