Why Buhari must extend probe to power sector, by APC chief

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Abdullahi Bafarawa, on Wednesday urged President Muhammadu Buhari to probe happenings in the power sector.
Bafarawa said in Sokoto that much funds had been misappropriated in the power sector which required to be recovered.
He said so much money had been spent to upgrade electricity generation and supply in the past with nothing substantial to show for it today.
He said the defective power situation in Nigeria had contributed negatively to the national economy.
Bafarawa commended the president for the effort to recover stolen public funds meant to overcome insurgency in the country, adding that anybody indicted should be prosecuted.
“Our embezzled public funds should be recovered and channeled towards reactivating industries to provide jobs.
“Every Nigerian needs to support the fight against corruption by exposing public officers that have embezzled,’’ he said.
Bafarawa also said that Nigerians should stop celebrating or praising those indicted for corruption in any probe.
