Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI), in Enugu State, has signed a memorandum of understanding with an indigenous company for the construction of the biggest Oxygen plant in Nigeria at its main campus.
Vice Chancellor of the University Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke announced this while inaugurating a modern restaurant built by the Alumni Association of the University at the Thinkers Corner campus of the institution in Enugu on Sunday.

The vice chancellor said the company, Accunalysis Diagnostic Centre, is  a subsidiary of Accu Health Group, Nnewi in Anambra owned by Mr Ikenna Okeke.

Anieke also announced that the university would  soon sign another MOU with another organisation for the construction of a gym at the main campus of the institution to promote good health.
He described the performance of the members of the Alumni in different parts of the globe and the contributions of the Alumnus to the growth of the university as proof of the quality of graduates of the University.
Responding, the President of the GOUNI Alumni Association, Mr Alphonsus Nwafor, explained that the restaurant was completed with the support of the members of the alumni and their friends.
Mr. Nwafor expressed gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer of Accunalysis Diagnostic Centre, Ifenna Okeke, for donating N16 million to the project.
In a speech, Okeke commended the university for contributing positively to the development of education in the country.
He reaffirmed the readiness of his organization to partner the university to fast-track the development of the university.
Meanwhile, the Godfrey Okoye University Enugu Ultramodern Bakery at the Main campus of University, Ugwuomu, is expected to commence production this month, the VC has announced.
Anieke said the equipment needed for the factory had been received and were being installed at the main campus of the university.
He gave the assurance that the products of the factory would be of international standard.
The priest, who also spoke on the significance of Corpus Christi, body of Christ, reminded the faithful that without wisdom, no person would understand God’s work.
He enjoined them to allow the light of Christ to direct them in their activities.
