The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Prof. Polycarp Chigbu, has applauded the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNN chapter on their acquisition of 347 plots of land.

The plots of land were officially handed over to ASUU by Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State last Wednesday.

Chigbu gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen on the development on Monday in Enugu.

He said that the university family remains grateful for the rare gesture and development.

“I express my profound gratitude to the state governor for facilitating this great feat.

“The plots of land, situated at the Coal City Eastern Extension Alliance Estate behind Premier Layout in Enugu City, were acquired by ASUU-UNN in 2011.

“But, the plots of lands and their title documents were handed over to the union on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

“The documents were handed over by Barr. Gerald Asogwa, General Manager, Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDA), representing the state governor.

“Other university unions also have similar plots of land in the same area.”

The acting vice-chancellor also extended his commendation to the other unions of the University for their efforts towards the betterment of the institution
