UNILORIN VC raises Environmental Protection Committee

Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, has approved the constitution of an Environmental Protection and Monitoring Committee.
The Registrar, Dr. Folaranmi Olowoleni, said in Ilorin on Monday that the approval followed the directive of the university’s council after its 159th meeting held in the university.
According to Olowoleni, the committee will ensure that the university environment is always kept clean; monitor the activities of workers for effective and efficient maintenance of the university environment.
He said the committee would also encourage competition between faculties and the registry, departments; identify areas of urgent attention and proffer solutions as well as perform other relevant tasks.
The committee has as its chairman, Prof. Abdulrasheed Adeoye, Head of the Department, Performing Arts and Mr Taiwo Ijaiya, Secretary.
Other members are Dr Abdulraheem Yusuf of the Department of Social Science Education, Dr Felix Takim of the Department of Agronomy, and Dr Hakeem Ijaiya of the Faculty of Law.
