Ugwuanyi receives ‘Champion of Peace and Rural Development’ Award


The Nigeria Union of Journalists,  NUJ,  Enugu State  Correspondents’ Chapel, has honoured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State with the Champion of Peace and  Rural Development award.
The award is in recognition of  his commitment  in rural development and  enthronement   of peace in the state.
At the ” 2019 Get-Together/ Recognition of National Officers of the union,  the Chairman of the Chapel,  Comrade Emma Nweze said that the event was aimed at recognising members of the chapel who are serving the NUJ at National  level. 
Those recognised were the national President of the NUJ,  Comrade Chris Isiguzo and the  Zonal Secretary,/  Zone C,  Comrade Ken Oforma. Award was also given to a Philanthropist, Honorable Chiedu Eya. 
In his speech,  the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,  NUJ,  Enugu State Council,  Comrade Rex Arum assured that  members would continue to be objective in their reportage. He thanked Ugwuanyi for his good governance in the state, especially in the  area of security. 
On his part,  member,  representing Nkanu East state constituency and Chairman,  House Committee on Information,  at the  Enugu State House of Assembly, Paul Nnajiofor, thanked the Correspondents for  the good works they are  doing in Enugu State,  their partnership with the State government,  House of Assembly and the Judiciary.
He pledged continuous support for the chapel and thanked members for honouring  governor Ugwuanyi,  whom he described as a visionary leader. 
Goodwill messages were delivered  by the NUJ National President, Comrade Chris Isiguzo,  who was represented by the NUJ Enugu Council chairman,  Comrade Rex Arum ,Commissioner for information, Chidi  Aroh, represented by  a Director in the Ministry of Information, Mr Chike Ezeugwu , Governor Ugwuanyi ‘s media aide, Special Assistant to the governor  on Media,  Honorable Carl Ofonye, 
Head of Communications,  Enugu Electricity Distribution Company,  EEDC,  Emeka Ezeh,  Dr Nana Ogbodo, among others.
