Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has reiterated the commitment of his administration in improving the welfare and protecting the rights of people living with disabilities.
He made the remark at the dinner organised by the Para Powerlifting Federation under the patronship of the wife of the President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, to raise funds for the Abuja 2020 para powerlifting World Cup championship held at the Base event Centre, Enugu.
Ugwuanyi who made a donation of N25 million for the championship, said that his administration had been optimising opportunities for the physically challenged to be productively engaged and live a fulfilling life which promoted decision to give automatic employment to 50 graduates with special needs in the year 2017 and other deliberate measure to ensure the integration of persons with special needs in the state.

In her remark, wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, represented by the wife of Nasarawa State governor, Dr Mairo Al Makura thanked Ugwuanyi for hosting the event.
She stressed that Mrs Buhari has passion for the well-being of the less privilege in the society and committed to the successful hosting of event in Abuja can’t be over emphasised.

In a remark, former senator who represented Kogi West zone, Dino Melaye, commended Ugwuanyi for his good governance initiatives and commitment to the well-being of the people of the state and thanked Mrs Buhari for identifying with persons with disability and the vulnerable in the society, particularly those who have brought glory and honour to Nigeria.
