Ugwuanyi inaugurates ECTDA Board

Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has inaugurated a 14-man Board for the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) with a charge on them to immediately commence enforcement of full development control of Enugu State, using the Master plan

“Your loyalty as a public officer must be to God and the State.
You must at all times pursue honesty, transparency, equity, justice and commitment to duty.
“This is the first time the Board is being constituted with its full law compliance , the 2009 law No 5”. .

The board is headed by Dr Josef Umunnakwe Onoh, son of the former governor of old Anambra State ,late C.C. Onoh.
Other members of the Board included Paul Ukwueze, Mr Godwin Isiewu, Engr David Ikpe, Mrs Chinyere Ngwu, Engr. Chuks Nwangwu, Director, Ministry of Environment, Engr Chidozie Eze, Mrs Amaka Anajemba, Director, Tourism, Engr Daniel Ohia, Engr Cyril Mba, Engr Anthony Agbo,and Surveyor Jonathan Onyia.

The Governor also swore-in Mathew Idu from Uzo-Uwani locall government area as the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, following his confirmation by the State Assembly.
Also sworn-in were Mr. Anthony Ikenna Nwodo, son of the former governor of Enugu State, Dr Okwesirieze Nwodo, Mr. Arinze Chilo-Offiah, Mr. Michael Ogbuekwe and Mr. Anthony Chukwudubem Onyia, son of a former minister, Dubem Onyia as Special Advisers.
The governor charged them to hit the ground running in order to fulfil the social contract with the people of the state and to advance good governance and optimize service delivery.

He added that his administration’s commitment to ensure security and welfare of the people is sacrosanct, reiterating that “public officers must avoid contaminating governance with politics”.
According to him, “performance will be key in our consideration and we will periodically benchmark it as a basis to remain in office while no shade of corrupt practice will be countenanced.
Ugwuanyi told the new appointees of the need to align with the recommendations of the twelve (12) sectoral ad-hoc committees, to actualize the full objectives of the government.
He also urged them to raise their performance bar and discharge their duties diligently.
Responding on behalf of the newly sworn in appointees, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hon. Idu, thanked Ugwuanyi for finding them worthy to serve the state and pledged their commitment not to disappoint.
