Man arraigned for beating mother-in-law, injuring her

For allegedly fighting in a public place because of a woman, two men on Wednesday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The accused are: Sunday Okaror, 34, and Peter Osondo, 33, both traders living at 22, Adebisi Awosoga St., Dopemu, a suburb of Lagos
They are being tried on a charge bordering on fighting in public place.
The prosecutor, Inspector Racheal Williams told the court that the two accused committed the offence on January 21 at 22, Adebisi Awosoga St., Dopemu, a suburb of Lagos.
Williams also told the court that the accused were fighting because of a woman adding that in the process, dragged themselves to the police station.
“They were throwing stones and sharp objects on themselves, from their house until they dragged themselves to the police station,” she said.
The offence according to the prosecutor contravenes Section 54 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty and the Magistrate, Mrs C.Y Balogun, granted them to a bail of N20,000 each with, one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to February 10 for mention.
