Thugs attack Obaseki, Oba of Lagos at Oshiomhole’s residence

It was a reign of terror on Saturday at the Iyamho, Edo State residence of the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as thugs suspected to be loyal to him attacked Governor Godwin Obaseki, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu,
Chairman of Caverton Offshore Support Group, Dr. Aderemi Makanjuola, and others.
Freedom Online learned that the attack was to retaliate the humiliation suffered by Oshiomhole in the hands of some thugs a few weeks ago in the state.
When the attack against Oshiomhole became public knowledge, the state Police Commissioner described it as false.

But, Saturday’s attack against Obaseki, Oba Akiolu and Makanjuola, the Chancellor of Edo University, Iyamho, was real as security agents attached to the governor and the monarch battled for hours to ward off the aggression.
Some vehicles were damaged in the attack shortly after the first convocation ceremony of the Edo University, Iyamho.
Security agents shot into the air for the thugs to eventually disperse.
Makanjuola was installed Chancellor of the institution at the ceremony.
Freedom Online learned that Obaseki, Akiolu, Makanjuola and others had gone to Oshiomhole’s house to honour the former governor’s invitation for a lunch after the ceremony at the university.
A source said: “It was a long convoy. You know Oshiomhole’s house is just opposite the university. To honour his invitation, Obaseki, the Oba of Lagos and other guests had gone to the house for lunch when they were attacked by thugs. One of the thugs is believed to be a close relative of the former governor.
“Initially, security agents thought they were area boys who wanted to collect money from Makanjuola. It was later their intention was known through their utterances. One of them was shouting ‘you think you can embarrass Baba Oshio without repercussion?’ It was a chaotic scene. Some of the security agents blocked the windows where their principals were sitting in the vehicles while others started shooting to scare the thugs. The thugs escaped after damaging some vehicles”.
