The City Boy Movement (CBM) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday completed its grassroots structures in Lagos State with the inauguration of Ward Executives for Lagos West 1 Senatorial District.
The event, held at Marcelina’s Place, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday, November 5, 2026, drew youth leaders, council chairmen, lawmakers and party stakeholders from the 18 local governments and LCDAs that make up Lagos West 1.
The Movement was established to promote the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his keynote address, the State Director General of the City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter and Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister (Hon) Moyosore Ogunlewe, said that the inauguration marks the completion of the movement’s structures from the state to ward level.
“I welcome you to the inauguration of Ward Excos of Lagos West 1. This marks the completion of our grassroots structures in Lagos State. It shows the strength and unity of our party.
“Your presence shows that the City Boy Movement is not parallel to our party, but the initiative of the youths to ensure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the initiative of Barrister Seyi Tinubu. Our job is to take the message to the grassroots and to counter fake news and misinformation.
“I congratulate the ward Excos and you are now the ambassadors of the City Boy Movement of Lagos West 1. Be present at our meetings and markets. Mobilise our youths to get their PVCs and the party. We must deliver all our candidates.

“Respect the party leaders and we have no room for disloyalty and we have zero tolerance for insubordination. We must attend party programmes and events and mobilise the youths for the success of the party. Hardwork would also be rewarded. We are setting a new standard for youth groups in Lagos State,” he said.
In his welcome address, the Coordinator of Lagos West 1 and Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, said that the movement’s achievements are evident in the end of fuel queues and university strikes.
“It’s a pleasure to have you in Lagos West 1 to inaugurate all the structures to ward level of the City Boy Movement. We have 18 local governments from Lagos West 1.
“Someone wanted to challenge us on what the City Boy Movement is about on Instagram. I told him that it is because there is no more fuel queues or strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. People have forgotten how they used to queue at our fuel stations during festivities,” he said
Adebanjo said that he asked the person if he would have done better as president and if the president has done well on infrastructure.
While saying that the President has done well, he stated that as a council chairman, everything they are doing is due to what President Bola Tinubu has done for the local governments in Nigeria.
“There is no way a local government would not construct five roads in a year and provide empowerment for the people. People blame the President for everything, but we need to do some things for ourselves.
“We are here to amplify the structure of the President and he must not be put to shame. You disgust me if you don’t have your PVC because it is your civic right to amplify our President.
“I want to thank our state Coordinator, Hon. Sesi Whighan and our state Director General, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe,” he said.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Legal Adviser of the City Boy Movement, Lagos State chapter and lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2, Hon. Ladi Ajomale, charged the new exco members to educate Nigerians on the President’s achievements.
“We all have a task to educate ourselves and let the people know what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing for Nigeria. People forget change easily and it was the President that brought them about. He ended fuel scarcity and ASUU Strike.
“We all forgot how the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State used to be. Now the bridge is okay with CCTV and solar powered light.
“He is also constructing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Badagry-Sokoto Road. He also brought sanity into the exchange rate system. The economy is getting better and we are on a brilliant path to economic prosperity.
“Those to be inaugurated today should educate, inform, engage and empower the youths to know what President Bola Tinubu is doing for Nigeria and by January 16, 2027, we must ensure that the people vote for President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, said that the movement has evolved into a national empowerment platform.
“I appreciate the National Patron of City Boy Movement, Barrister Seyi Tinubu. The movement has evolved past what it used to be. It is now empowering the people all over the country. It is informing, engaging and empowering the people. We have an app on the City Boy Movement that tells you what President Bola Tinubu is doing.
“The structure is not competing with any other group, it is meant to solidify their base and amplify the works of President Bola Tinubu. Let us be involved and show them that in every nook and cranny of the state the movement is well positioned. The Ward Coordinators would be our ambassadors,” Taiwo said.

In his remarks, the Deputy Zonal Coordinator for Lagos West, Hon. Oseni Olabode Ahmed, described the inauguration as a call to service.
Olabode told the youths to be happy to be part of City Boy Movement, which he said is a call to service.
He added that they are giving back to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he has done for them, and that Lagos West 1 is where the largest vote is generated in Lagos State,” Ahmed said.
“The Coordinators should tell the people what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done for the country and what our elected officials have done for their states and local governments.
“Nigeria today is different from that of yesterday and Nigeria tomorrow would be better than Nigeria of today. The second term of President Bola Tinubu would place Nigeria on the map of the world. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not negotiable, it is victory for everyone,” he said.
The Deputy Director General of the movement and lawmaker representing Ifako/Ijaiye Constituency 1, Hon. Temitope Adewale Adedeji, charged the new executives to focus on data and polling unit mobilisation.
“We have come to inaugurate the representatives of President Bola Tinubu through Barrister Seyi Tinubu. The future is the youth and it is here. When the City Boy Movement idea started, nobody knew it would be this good and it is the strongest group in our party. Lagos West 1 is the heartbeat of President Bola Tinubu.
“We should go back to our local governments, ward levels and polling units. We must have the data for our wards and polling units. It is important to have data and we must have a representative in each polling unit. Beyond the dancing, our responsibility is to go to our ward levels and mobilise the polling units,” Adedeji said.
Other speakers including the Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. AbdulGaniyu Obasa; Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku; Senior Special Adviser to the President on Industry, Training and Development, Hon. Adamson Ayinde; State Secretary, Hon. Damilola Azeezat; and Assistant Woman Leader, Hon. Olabisi Alamu, urged the new ward coordinators to be the best ambassadors and ensure victory for all APC candidates in 2027.
The State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement for Lagos State, Hon. Sesi Whighan, in his closing remarks, said: “Let’s all go out there and spread the gospel of the City Boy Movement and that of the administration and work for the success of the President and that of all the candidates of our party.”
The inauguration was also attended by the State Organising Secretary, Hon. Taiwo Ojomu, and other state executive members of the movement.
