The Speaker of the Taraba House of Assembly, Mr Haruna Tsokwa, is dead.
This information is contained in a statement signed by the Clerk of the house, Mr Ismailu Ukwen.
The statement said the speaker died at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, on Monday morning.
Tsokwa, who is survived by a wife and children, was born in Nafingi Dogari in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba.
He was elected speaker of the assembly on June 22 and led the 16 lawmakers, who opposed Gov. Danbaba Suntai’s resumption after his treatment in U.S
He attended the Federal University of Technology, Yola and Government Secondary School, Ibbi.
