ahmed_gulak4Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, has said that the proposed National Dialogue will boost Nigeria’s development.

Gulak said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The Special Adviser said the proposed national confab would centre on how to move the country forward as united, indivisible and developed nation.

According to him, there have been several conferences in the past, but this proposed national dialogue will be done in a coordinated manner with a time frame set out by Nigerians themselves.

“There are lots of things happening in this country that are very strange; insurgencies in the north, kidnapping in the south east, money laundry, killing in mosques and churches.

“Nigerians should sit down and discuss how we move forward and the president has given Nigerians the opportunity to talk about the country,” he said.

Gulak added that the outcome of the national confab, as the president had said, would be referred to National Assembly.

He said the National Assembly (NASS) was empowered by the constitution to make laws and amend the constitution.

“The aggregate of the opinion of Nigerians would be submitted to NASS for them to take it to the level of the implementation.

He advised the seven aggrieved governors of the PDP to return to the fold but added that they were at liberty to decide either to remain in the party or leave.

“Some of the conditions the G7-Governors have given are not within Nigeria’s and PDP’s constitutions.

He said that the president, as a democrat, who supported democratic culture, had opened the political spheres for more participation by people.

Gulak urged Nigerians to support the president’s Transformation Agenda to accelerate the country’s development.
