garba_umarMONTHS after he was sacked for insisting on improved welfare package for workers, the National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, Comrade Boboi Bala Kaigama, has been recalled by the acting governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar.

Kaigama was sacked by ailing Governor Danfulani Danbaba Suntai, who is still on admission in a German hospital after the October, 2012 aeroplane crash.

Kaigama was recalled, according to the acting governor, to ensure that justice is done in his matter and to put to rest the crisis in the union.

Members of the union, especially in the Northern State chapter, have already praised Umar for the recall.

In a statement in Kaduna, the association said that the action of the acting governor has built confidence between the government and labour in the state.

The statement, which was signed by the Secretary of the Forum, Shehu Mohammed, urged governors to emulate the Taraba State acting governor and establish a cordial relationship with the organised labour in their states for the overall development of the country.

The union said that no society will develop without a cordial relationship with organised labour, adding that several actions taken by the acting governor since he assumed office “has encouraged a positive government/labour relationship which is worth commending”.
