The Police Command in Ebonyi State has confirmed the killing of a trader in his shop by gunmen at a community in the South-East state.
The incident took place in a shop at Nwambara Junction along Mile 4-Agalegu-Ishieke road in the Ebonyi Local Government Area.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah, on Thursday in Abakiliki, said that the killing was a suspected case of cultism.
“Nothing was reported stolen or robbed from the victim. The commissioner of police has ordered full-scale investigation into the matter with a view to unravelling the actual cause of the incident.
“The police have also ordered the arrest and persecution of the perpetrators,” Odah said.
