The Nigeria Football Supporters Club has thrown its weight behind ex-Super Eagles striker and coach, Samson Siasia.
In a statement signed by the Secretary General, Reverend Sam Ikpea, the Supporters Club expressed their support for Siasia to handle the Eagles going forward, after the exit of the country from the 2017 AFCON tournament, based on his antecedents in handling the Under-23 team, which he took to the finals of the 2008 Olympic Game, in Beijing and qualifying for the Rio Olympic Games.
They further commended his approach to the last two games of the Super Eagles to the Afcon qualifiers.
“The Supporters Club in line with the current realities in the country regarding the economy urged the Nigeria Football Federation to assist. Nigerian coaches through capacity building rather than use our scarce resources to hire a foreign coach.
