SuperSport on Wednesday in Lagos launched a search to fish out talented pidgin English commentator that would be saddled with the responsibility of running live commentaries during key games of the Globacom Premier League. Which boasts several Super Eagles players.
Speaking of the novel initiative, Felix Awogu, General Manager, SuperSport West Africa, said: “We are looking for Nigerians who can play with typical pidgin words on air and are also passionate about the league. It promises to be a unique experience for every participant.”
Auditions will be held in Port-Harcourt as well as Lagos and entry is open to Nigerians above the age of 21 years.
Contestants will have to demonstrate their versatility and command of pidgin English to the trio of Deji Omotoyinbo, Chinedu Ani (Nedu of Wazobia FM) and Tega Onojaife, who will serve as judges.
The best six contestants from each audition venue will progress to the next round, where they’ll be housed in Lagos for a week to undergo mentoring and training.
At the end of the week’s stay in the house, the contestants will be trimmed down to a final three who will contest the grand finale on 4th of October.
The eventual winner immediately gets an employment letter from SuperSport as a commentator on Glo Premier League Matches.
Audition Dates: Port-Harcourt: August 23rd and 24th, 2013. Lagos: September 6th and 7th, 2013. Grand Finale: Lagos: October 4th, 2013.
