Sunday Dare: We raised money for Siasia to fight FIFA ban

Nigeria U-23 national team head coach, Samson Siasia, has heaped praises on his players after they secured qualification for the Africa U-23 Championship, thanks to a 0-0 draw against Congo in Pointe-Noire on Sunday, following a 2-1 victory in Port-Harcourt in the first leg encounter.
The former Super Eagles handler said his boys played like true heroes and he is proud of them as they have also made him a proud coach and Nigerian.
The Bayelsa-born tactician, who in a post-match reaction revealed that his boys played to instructions, however, rued his team’s inability score goals -a situation the 44 year old knows he has to address before the tournament kicks off in November.
“Playing a match like this is always difficult, but then, I knew our best tactics for this game was to go all out and attack because if they scored a goal against us, we would be out of the race.
“My boys did what I told them, but then we missed a couple of clear chances that are unpardonable. However, we did the job and we are into the African U-23 finals,” Siasia said.
Before Nigeria’s qualification, Egypt, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia are the earlier countries that have confirmed their places for the African U-23 Championship Senegal 2015.
Siasai also disclosed that he would give the boys some days break to relax before returning to Congo for the All Africa Games in September.
