One of Nigeria’s most famous clubs Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan have been relegated to the lower league after they lost 1-0 at Nembe City on Saturday.

3SC, the first Nigerian club to win an international trophy, now have 43 points from 36 matches to remain at the base of the table, while Nembe City are 16th on the league table with 49 points.

With two games to go, 3SC can only have 49 points which won’t be enough to save them from relegation.

Rotimi Omaniwa scored the back-breaking goal in the 37th minute.

Akwa United shocked Warri Wolves in Warri with a 1-0 win.

Akwa United took their survival battle to Warri and came out victorious. Emmanuel Enize scored the goal with assist from Mfom Udoh.

Etebor Oghenekaro missed from the penalty spot which was awarded to Wolves in the added five minutes after regulation time. His penalty was saved by the Akwa United goalkeeper.
