Shocking! Deplorable condition of Delta school where pupils sit on the floor, kill snakes everyday + photographs

Omo Primary School, Ovara Orogun, Delta State was founded in 1955.

Sixty four years later, the school, which is less than two kilometres to the village of Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, is in a deplorable condition.
One of the pupils (name withheld) told Freedom Online that the name of their headmaster is Mr. Efole Peter.

“This is where we learn. Our headmaster is tired of complaining to people in government. We kill snakes almost everyday here”.

The school is in Orogun Wards 4 and 5 in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government area of the oil-bearing state.

One of the parents, one Mr. Chidi, appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, through the council chairman, to help rehabilitate the school.

“You can see that the roof, windows, doors are gone. Everywhere is bushy. These pupils are at risk. This place is not conducive for learning at all”, he told Freedom Online.
