Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially inaugurated Irele Towers, a new commercial facility within the Lagos Free Zone, marking a significant step in the state’s economic development strategy.

The project, located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, is designed to enhance business operations and attract both local and international investors to Lagos.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Sanwo-Olu described the development as a reflection of Lagos’ commitment to innovation, economic growth, and global competitiveness.

He commended private sector partners for their role in delivering the project, noting that collaboration between government and investors remains key to sustainable development.

According to the governor, the new facility will serve as a strategic hub for businesses operating within the Lagos Free Zone, offering improved access to infrastructure and logistics networks.

He highlighted the importance of the building’s proximity to key maritime assets, including the Lekki Port, which positions it as a vital centre for trade and commerce.

Sanwo-Olu said the development would strengthen Lagos’ reputation as a leading destination for investment, providing a conducive environment for enterprises to grow and expand.

He explained that the name “Irele,” which signifies humility, reflects the vision of purposeful and sustainable growth underpinning the project.

The governor also praised stakeholders, including Biodun Dabiri Chairman of Lekki Port, and other private investors, for their contributions to the success of the initiative.

He noted that the Lagos Free Zone continues to play a critical role in shaping the state’s industrial and commercial landscape.

Sanwo-Olu further acknowledged efforts by the project developers to engage host communities, create employment opportunities, and promote inclusive development.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and policies that support ease of doing business in Lagos.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Lagos Free Zone, Adesuwa Ladoja, described Irele Towers as a world-class commercial and administrative centre within the zone.

She explained that the facility is designed to enhance operational efficiency, support industrial activities, and contribute to long-term economic growth.

Ladoja added that the Lagos Free Zone remains focused on building an integrated business ecosystem that benefits both investors and surrounding communities.
