Rotary Club of Lagos holds annual President’s Dinner at Metropolitan Club

The Rotary Club of Lagos will hold its  2021-2022 Annual President’s Dinner tomorrow, February 12, at the Metropolitan Club, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island Lagos.

  President of the Club, Rotarian Babawale Agbeyangi, explained that the annual President’s Dinner is a flagship event of the Rotary Club of Lagos where Rotarians, friends and partners of Rotary would be appreciated for their support to the club in implementing its projects and initiatives throughout the year. 

    He said, “We look forward to hosting our members, friends and partners who have supported our projects through donations, sponsorships and partnerships. We also hope to get their commitment for continued support as we continue in our service to improve lives in our communities.”

    The Chairperson, President’s Dinner Committee, Past Assistant Governor Toyin Emeordi confirmed that the occasion will be chaired by Mr Elias Igbinakenzua, the Managing Director/ CEO of Globus Bank Limited, while the Guest Speaker is Dr Adeoye Adefulu, Partner at Odujirin & Co, and the Special Guest is the Rotary District Governor Remi Bello FCA. 

   Also, the club has concluded plans to hold the World Peace and Understanding Day Symposium themed “Promoting Peace among Ethnic Nationalities in Nigeria” on February 23, 2022, in Lagos. 

   In a statement to the media, the club’s Chairperson of the World Understanding Day committee, Gbenga Onabanjo, confirmed that the keynote address would be delivered by former Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega. The panellists are Mr Yemi Candide-Johnson SAN, Rev, Juliet Binitie, Prof Pat Utomi, and Mrs Osayi Alile.

   Rotarian Onabanjo added that the event aims to provide a platform for discussions that will help improve understanding and promote peace in Nigeria. 

   He explained that the symposium is in commemoration of the 117th anniversary of the first meeting of Rotary held on February 23, 1905, now designated as the World Understanding and Peace Day.
