The crisis in Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has deepened.
Darlington Nwauju, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state has criticised the sacked chairman, Tony Okocha, warning him to stop misleading the public through protests.
Okocha, an ally of FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was recently sacked by court from parading himself as the party’s caretaker committee chairman in the state.

Nwauju criticised Okocha for leading a solidarity protest in Port Harcourt in support of President Bola Tinubu and Wike.

He described Okocha’s action as deceptive and a public nuisance, arguing that Okocha lacks the moral authority to lead such demonstrations.
Nwauju emphasised the importance of respecting the court’s decision that led to Okocha’s removal and accused the former chairman of using his support for Tinubu to manipulate public opinion for personal political gain.

Nwauju also pointed out that Okocha had previously filed a lawsuit in the same court he now criticises, attempting to prevent the APC from fielding candidates in the 2019 elections.
